Rare Beer Tuesday (Tonight) #chs

Tonight at 5pm, we'll be doing our weekly "Rare Beer Tuesday" release on the growler station.  We are very, very excited to announce that it will be the long awaited, eagerly anticipated Bear Republic Racer X!!!  For those who don't know, this is a draft only special release Double IPA from California's Bear Republic Brewing Company.  It is rarely seen anywhere, especially outside of California!  It is our pleasure and honor to feature growlers of this beer today!  Get 'em while they last (which probably won't be long, especially considering the lower than usual price as compared to many of our other "Rare Beer Tuesday" releases).

Cask Event Saturday 3/28
Many of you have been asking about when we'll have another cask... This Saturday at 2pm!  We will be tapping our latest cask ale which is a special dry hopped version of the American Pale Ale from Stoudts Brewery.  Growlers will be available first come, first serve from tapping time.  As always, bear in mind that these are not "regular" growlers.  Real cask ale is highly perishable and must be consumed the same day so plan accordingly.

Currently On the Growler Station
Ballast Point Bourbon Barrel Aged Black Marlin Porter
Great Divide Claymore Scotch Ale
Foothills Torch Pilsner
Stoudts Smooth Hoperator
COAST HopArt IPA
Founders Breakfast Stout
Moylan's Hopsickle
Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine
Stone Double Dry Hopped Old Guardian Barleywine
Foothills People's Porter

You can always see what's on tap live at TheCharlestonBeerExchange.com or follow us on Twitter for notifications of new tappings.

First, Avery Maharaja is now in stock! They have 22oz bottles on the shelf and growlers will be available as soon as they have an open tap to put it on. This is one of the absolute best imperial IPAs out there and it is fresh as could be having just been bottled on March 4th! Grab it while you can, this never lasts long.

Second, and what you’ve all be asking about, Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout will be released this Sunday, March 15th, at opening time (Noon on Sundays) at the Charleston Beer Exchange! For those who don’t know, Kentucky Breakfast is the Bourbon barrel aged spin off of the Founders Breakfast Stout. This stuff is unbelievably limited and they are wonderfully fortunate to receive any in South Carolina at all. It is always one of the most sought after releases every year and sells out as fast as it hits shelves in the lucky few places to get it outside of the brewery. It comes in 4 packs of 12 oz bottles and purchases will be limited to help as many people as possible have a chance at getting some. They suggest not waiting on this.

Call or email anytime with questions and don’t forget you can always see what’s on the growler station live on their website at TheCharlestonBeerExchange.com just click “On Tap”. Also, if you twitter, follow us there at name “BeerExchange”.

Rare Beer Tuesday at The Charleston Beer Exchange

They'll be featuring Allagash Interlude which is a very special beer fermented with both farmhouse and brettanomyces yeast then aged in french oak barrels that previously held Merlot and Syrah wines.  Don't miss the special chance to take a growler of this home.  It will be quite a bargain compared to the bottled version.

(we have a few in stock at the store) have had nothing but rave
reviews.  Don't miss this one, we are the only place in SC currently
with this on draft!

Foothills Hoppium IPA

A nice refreshing brew. As the name implies it's certainly hoppy, but if you like a hoppy brew, this is certainly just right for a good session beer.

It's a bright coppery color, and a good head that lingers, and sticks to the side of the glass. I detected a citrus tone, which gave it that refreshing quality. Although it's hoppy, it's well balanced with the sweetness of the malt, and it has quite a sweet finish. Not overly carbonated.
