Spoleto and beach season are in full swing, and we've got all the necessary supplies to get you going. Chef Eva has come up with some incredibly tasty dishes for our beer dinner on the 17th, and we are really excited about the theme, "Craft Beers in a Can." Hope you will join us!

Canned beer has come a long way from the days of PBR, and at this month's beer dinner, we're spotlighting some of the stellar new craft canned beers on the market, paired with a four course menu featuring the flavors of summer. Each diner will get a complimentary Ted's koozie to keep 'em cool! The full menu with beer pairings can be viewed here.

We've been stocking the shelves with new homemade pies from local baker, 3.14 Pies. 3.14  is transforming pie from an American classic to an imaginative designer dessert, and their artisan pies feature handmade crusts and fillings, produced from all natural, locally-sourced ingredients. We're selling pies by the slice ($5/each), but whole pies are also available to order.  Here's what's on the menu this month:
  • THE FUSION: Handmade Chocolate Cookies/Silky Chocolate Ganache/Creamy Peanut Butter Mousse

MAL'S FEATURED JUNE WINES
Domaine de la Berthete "Sensation" Rose, $14 - Bright pink color packed w/ aromas of white peaches + berries. A well-balanced wine with soft minerality, sweetness, and good aromatic persistence. Will perfectly pair with hams, pizzas and summer barbecues. One of the best value priced Cotes du Rhone Rose in the market. A blend of 55% Cinsault, 25% Grenache, 15% Carignan and 5% Syrah

Ermita de Nieve Verdejo, $13 - A light to medium bodied white such as this is just the thing to drink when a chardonnay or a pinot grigio sounds too heavy or concentrated. That's not to say that this Spanish white lacks complexity! It's brimming with citrus + herbs, a touch of pineapple + lots of acidity, which makes it ideal with seafood.

Damilano Nebbiolo d' Alba, DOC, $18 - Made from the same grape as Barolo, this Italian red is a touch lighter and less complex, if more elegant and earlier maturing. It shares much the same flavor profile with it's siblings, though tends to be less intense. This is a fantastic wine for steak in the hot summer months.
